A map of the Princes’ Islands off the coast of mainland Istanbul in the Marmara Sea, where I used to live. I am often homesick for The Islands, as they are called. Adalar. This fabric is a love letter to a past life, a page from my diary.

Although these islands are specific, they also stand in for any and all islands and island states-of-mind - islands of refuge, fantasy, solitude, or carnival - and for all islanders.

Hand blockprinted by master printers in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. 

Base fabric is cotton/linen.
