Pakshee Sage + Buttons Hand-Embroidered Pillows - 18x18"

from $98.00

Hand-embroidered Pakshee Sage + Buttons pillows, inspired by an antique Bengali sari, and the elegant woman who wore it.

”Pakshee” means “bird” - an abstract motif with wings ready for flight.

Hand embroidered in tone-on-tone sage on sage green pinstripe linen.

Each pillow is uniquely decorated with white/ivory buttons. Machine-made buttons were often kept and reused as valuable decoration, even on otherwise handmade textiles. I love this tradition. These buttons are from my own collections of vintage buttons. Each pillow’s buttons will vary, but all buttons are in a row across the center of each pillow.

Backed with navy blue silk/cotton. Lined in blue cotton. Hidden zip at bottom.

Insert sold separately.

Dry clean recommended.

Handmade in Gujarat, India.
