Vintage Siirt Mohair Blanket/Rug / 5'1"x6'11"/155x210cm
Super soft vintage traditional mohair handweaving from Anatolia’s southeastern Siirt. Siirt’s Kurdish weavers still produce these lightweight blankets/kilims/wall hangings from moahir and wool. Considered healthful blankets as they are lightweight, warm, soft, and natural, undyed fibres, these handweavings are also used as kilims on the floor or wall hangings. Could also be used as an upholstery/decorative pillow textile.
Soft, short, wispy mohair pile on one side. Two handwoven panels, hand-stitched together. In natural color, undyed mohair.
