Vintage Karapinar runner / 3'9"x10'3"/ 114x313cm
Karapinar, in Central Anatolia's Konya district, is a village famous for its high-quality wool and high-quality weaving. These gorgeous, natural beauty stripe kilims are iconic Karapinar: Kilims made from the weaver's own animals, and made for their own use - not for the commercial market. True village kilims, they reflect the dimensions of the loom, the colors of the animal's wool (the wool is undyed) and the prowess of the weaver within her community.
Warm copper tones match with rich white wool in this striped runner kilim. A lovely variation of undyed copper brown wools create a diversity of tone across the piece, with a dark charcoal black, pale taupe, and a orange-red stripe at one end, just for fun.
