Vintage Karapinar Kilim /5'5"x11'11"/166x364cm
Karapinar, in Central Anatolia's Konya district, is a village famous for its high-quality wool and high-quality weaving. These gorgeous, natural beauty stripe kilims are iconic Karapinar: Kilims made from the weaver's own animals, and made for their own use - not for the commercial market. True village kilims, they reflect the dimensions of the loom, the colors of the animal's wool (the wool is undyed) and the prowess of the weaver within her community.
This beautiful Karapinar striped kilim relies of gorgeous coppery-pinkish-brown wool and darkest black-brown with just thin relief white stripes between. Warm and even. There are a few cicim decorations in white wool towards one end.
