Vintage Karapinar Kilim / 5'11"x8'4"/180x255cm
Karapinar, in Central Anatolia's Konya district, is a village famous for its high-quality wool and high-quality weaving. These gorgeous, natural beauty stripe kilims are iconic Karapinar: Kilims made from the weaver's own animals, and made for their own use - not for the commercial market. True village kilims, they reflect the dimensions of the loom, the colors of the animal's wool (the wool is undyed) and the prowess of the weaver within her community.
Lovely design.. this Karapinar striped kilim has darkest black-brown, coppery light brown, and medium gray bold, thick stripes, overlayed with a very clever rhythm of thinnest white stripes.
