Vintage Karapinar Copper Stripe Kilim /5'8"x11'4"/173x345cm
Karapinar, in Central Anatolia's Konya district, is a village famous for its high-quality wool and high-quality weaving. These gorgeous, natural beauty stripe kilims are iconic Karapinar: Kilims made from the weaver's own animals, and made for their own use - not for the commercial market. True village kilims, they reflect the dimensions of the loom, the colors of the animal's wool (the wool is undyed) and the prowess of the weaver within her community.
Serene Karapinar undyed wool kilim with most even copper stripes, outlined with thin darkest black-brown stripes. A beautiful piece on its own right, also ripe for layering.
